WHAT IS PTE ACADEMIC EXAM?
PTE stands for Pearson Test of English and the test is conducted across 50 countries with more than 250 test centers. It’s an exam to test the candidates’ English language proficiency that can be used for both overseas education as well as immigration to some of the major countries like Australia. It basically has four modules: speaking, listening, reading & writing. In all the four modules there are 20 different item types that you get to see. The scoring of the exam happens on the scale of 10-90 and points are given one point increment. You can book the exam slot on Pearson website and the exam can be done the same day unlike IELTS. PTE ACADEMIC ELIGIBLITY
Anyone who is at least 16 years of age and holds a valid passport can take PTE. There is no restriction on how many times one can take PTE. All the scores are valid for two subsequent years and a new attempt doesn’t invalidate the previous one e.g. if you reattempt and get less score, your previous score is still valid and can be used. The standard fee for the PTE academic exam booking is Rs. 13,300 (including GST). If you are booking the PTE exam within 48 hours of the PTE exam date, you will have to pay a late fee which is Rs. 13,965 (including GST). You can book it online and can pay by your debit or credit card.

PTE ACADEMIC FORMAT & STRUCTURE
PTE Academic is a computer-based test designed to test your English speaking, writing, listening and writing skills. The test takes almost three hours of time to complete. This includes an un-timed and unscored introduction to the test and one optional scheduled break of up to 10 minutes. The test follows a specific order, you cannot switch back and forth on the questions during the test – it only moves in the forward direction and no backward button is available.
